PHL competitiveness falls on poor health, infrastructure

Getting poor scores on health and infrastructure, the Philippines fell eight points in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Competitiveness Report 2019, pushing the country in the lower quartile of the rankings of Southeast Asian economies. The Philippines obtained a score of 61.9 in the 2019 edition of the report, down from the 62.1 it received in the 2018 cycle. This put the country in the 64th spot in the survey measuring the competitiveness of 141 economies.
